Big Donation to B4BC :: February 21, 2008

Cancer sucks, as the old saying goes. And any way we can fight it is a good thing, including programs like Boarding For Breast Cancer (www.b4bc.org), a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation with a mission to increase awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle.

Skullcandy Inc., a designer of headphones, mp3 player watches, and other audio accessories and for the outdoors, last month made a big donation to the organization. Specifically, Skullcandy (www.skullcandy.com) gave $36,723. This is the largest one-time donation Boarding For Breast Cancer has yet to receive, according to the company.

Boarding For Breast Cancer’s executive director, Justine Chiara, said the money will fund the organization’s college outreach program. “It’s companies like Skullcandy that help us spread the much-needed message of the value of an active and healthy lifestyle,” she said.
